Claiming to intermingle ‘fact with fun’, in a way families will never forget, ‘Our Dynamic Earth’ is a state-of-the-art science museum in the Holyrood area of Edinburgh. 4D and 3D technology, interactive exhibits, and content to suit all interests can be found here, as visitors learn about science in the past, present, and future. This attraction could be described as a journey through time, where keen scientists will find out all about the universe, the different environments on our planet, and the effects humans have on it.
When you enter the attraction you will take a journey through 14 themed galleries, which include ‘Oceans’, ‘The Tropical Rainforest’, ‘Polar Extremes’, and the ‘Time Machine’ . There are also rooms centred around ‘Restless Earth’, and one called ‘The Future Dome’. Future Dome is all about picturing what the world will be like in the future, the effect we may have on the universe, and what we can do now, and in the future, to help the environment. Whether you like icebergs, volcanoes, dinosaurs, or want to find out more about the ‘big bang’ and how our earth was formed, you’ll find it all within the walls of ‘Our Dynamic Earth’. The attraction continues to develop as well, so you never know what you might see next. One of their newest exhibits is ‘4DVENTURE’, a show using the latest technology to fly you from the Arctic to the tropical rainforests.
The fun doesn’t end there though, as ‘Our Dynamic Earth’ also hosts ‘Dino’s Dynamos’, a kid’s club for 6-14 year olds. ‘Dino’ runs an educational and entertaining workshop program on different science subjects. Other facilities at the venue include a shop, cafe and play area, audio guides to teach you more about the attraction, and an events schedule which explores the best of Scottish science.
Whether you’re an adult, child, school party, or group, you’ll find something to educate and entertain at this attraction, in the heart of Edinburgh.
